Queens Memory events in Ridgewood
Hello all, and happy summer! Queens Memory will be holding two community history events in the coming weeks at the Ridgewood branch of Queens Public Library. The first, Ridgewood Through the Years, will be an afternoon of story-sharing about the past, present and future of Ridgewood. Examine historic photos of the community from the library's collections, and bring your own family's stories and photos to share. This event will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 2 to 4 pm. We will be back in Ridgewood the following Thursday, June 13, for a free oral history training workshop! You will learn how to prepare for an interview, ask good questions, make a high-quality recording, and submit your completed interview to the library. The evening will also feature a discussion of several current and upcoming Queens Memory projects. This session will take place from 6 to 8 pm. Both events are free and open to the public; the Ridgewood library is located at 20-12 Madison Street, Ridgewood, NY. Please email Lori.Wallach@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:Lori.Wallach@qc.cuny.edu> to RSVP or for further information. We'd love to see you there!
