Queens Memory Event on School Integration
Hello all, This coming Thursday, Jan. 26, Queens Memory and the Queens Borough President's Office will co-host a panel discussion on the historic school pairing programs at P.S. 92 and P.S. 149 in Jackson Heights and P.S. 127 and P.S. 148 in Corona/East Elmhurst in the 1960s. The panel will be led by Susie Tanenbaum, director of immigrant and inter-cultural affairs at the Queens Borough President's Office, and Democratic District Leader Maureen Allen. Panelists will include parents and students who experienced these programs. The event will be held at the Langston Hughes Library in Corona from 6 to 8 pm; light refreshments will be served.
