Announcement for the Fabric of Cultures and Made in Italy Festival
________________________________ The Department of European Languages and Literatures, The Italian Program at Queens College and the Graduate Center at The City University of New York, The Art Center, The Center for Teaching and Learning, The Freshmen Year Initiative (FYI) ?With the patronage of the Cineteca di Bologna and the Museo del Cinema di Torino are pleased to announce The opening of the Multimedia Exhibition: The Fabric of Cultures: Systems in the Making at the Art Center, Rosenthal Library, Queens College, 6th floor on October 12th at 6:00 pm and the launch of the first edition of the Made in Italy Festival: Arts + Culture and the opening of the Film Festival at the LeFrak Concert Hall on October 18th at 6pm. Guy Borlée, Coordinator of the Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna will be our guest and will speak to students. (see program attached) These exciting, educational events are organized in conjunction with a new Italian program, the Advanced Certificate for Italian Culture in the 21st Century (IC21) and an internship program with the Italian Trade Commission and in celebration of Italian Culture in the US. Please feel free to bring your students to come the exhibition, film festival, workshops and lectures. You can give extra credit or require an activity, a composition, an interview with one of the speakers, for a film review etc. The best of the students' work will be uploaded to our site: http://iccuny.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu. This is a unique opportunity for high school, Queens and other college students to immerse themselves in experiential learning and to add an entry to their resumes.
