This program is offered in conjunction with the Queens College Art Center's latest exhibition, The Fabric of Cultures: Systems in the Making: ?Exhibition: October 5 - December 15, 2017 M-TH, 9am - 8pm; F 9am - 5pm, when classes are in session The Fabric of Cultures: Systems in the Making brings together artists, designers, CUNY students and local communities to reflect on the art of making, craftsmanship and technology in a globalized world. The exhibition calls attention to the larger systems that influence the state of fashion, craft and aesthetics and are constantly under development, and in flux. This new branch of the Fabric of Cultures project (http://fabricofcultures.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu) considers the new Made in Italy within a transnational context and in conversation with other cultures and traditions. The Fabric of Cultures is part of a larger, partly digital, pedagogic and research project directed by Eugenia Paulicelli, Professor of Italian at Queens College and Director of Fashion Studies at the Graduate Center.
