Celebrate fall and excellence in teaching at Queens College by sharing your practice at the Center for Teaching & Learning’s sixth annual teaching and learning showcase on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10am to 3pm. The event will include presentations from faculty and students, on how QC faculty are utilizing engaging teaching practices and learning experiences. Consider presenting any teaching practice you have found to be effective and engaging. For those of you that participated in CTL workshops this past year, we would love to see a summary of how you are utilizing what you learned in your teaching. If you gave a presentation for the workshop you participated in, please consider giving the presentation to the wider campus audience. We encourage you to include your students in your presentation. This year we will host two types of presentations: Long format 20 minutes talks and rapid-fire talks of 5 minutes or less, including Q&A time. Rapid-fire talks are a chance to highlight a small and valuable teaching tip or practice you think others might find useful. Please send us a 100-150 word description of your practice or your students’ experience of it, and why you think it’s effective. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, October 1.
