Queens College’s CETLL (Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership) invites applications for a Faculty Fellow Program focused on Generative AI in the Classroom. Over the course of the 2024-25 academic year, ~8-10 Faculty Fellows will work together to critically engage the different concerns and opportunities that Generative AI presents for our work as educators. Fellows will also develop resources for their classes that respond to the ways that Generative AI impacts teaching and learning in their fields (e.g., a revised assignment, a syllabus statement, an in-class activity). Faculty Fellows will be invited to share reflections and resources with the campus including through CETLL’s Teaching Showcase in late Spring 2024. This program will host 8-10 Faculty Fellows who will: 1. Attend and participate in three meetings in Fall 2024, to be held on Thursdays from 12:15-1:30p on 10/31, 11/21, and 12/12 (in-person preferred) 2. Attend and participate in three in-person meetings in Spring 2024, dates/times to be determined as a group. 3. Read and discuss material related to Generative AI and teaching and reflect on applications for their own pedagogical goals and commitments. 4. Develop and/or revise materials for use in their classrooms, programs, or departments such as a revised assignment, a syllabus statement, or an in-class activity. 5. Help to plan ways to share resources with QC faculty around these issues. Fellows who fully participate in this program will receive a $1000 stipend after the academic year.
