Subject: Fwd: Year of South Africa - 20 Years of Freedom Event

This Wednesday, February 18th, Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College is proud to present two events for the Year of South Africa that will feature legendary artists Hugh Masekela and Vusi Mahlasela.

At 12:15, there will be a panel discussion with the artists in the Campbell Dome to talk about the effects that the political climate in South Africa had on their music, and the ways in which they used music to both uplift the people and raise social and political awareness.

Then at 7:30 in LeFrak Concert Hall Hugh Masekela and Vusia Mahlasela will perform live, featuring their own music and traditional South African Freedom Songs.

Please join us for a unique opportunity to meet and listen to two legendary artists who lived on the front lines of the fight against Apartheid.

Regards,
