As part of Queens College’s Immigrant Heritage
Week Programming, presenters will discuss the history and contemporary state of
immigrant voting with an emphasis on the current NYC Campaign. NYC Councilman
Daniel Dromm and Dennis Redmond, from the Queens Community House, will be
participating at this session led by Professor Ron Hayduk from the BMCC (who
will be joining QC in the Summer 2012).
Dean Betsy Hendrey will be giving the opening remarks.

Discussion about Immigration Policy on a Local, State and Federal Level
Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 at the Rosenthal
Library, Room 230 in Queens College. There will be a reception at 6 pm followed
by a panel discussion at 6:30 pm.
Confirmed panelists include NYC Councilman Daniel
Dromm, Thomas Shea from the New York Immigration Coalition, Rocio Cruz the
Chief of Staff of Assembly Member Guillermo Linares, and Valeria Treves from
the New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE).
