This is an advance notice about some upcoming hybrid training opportunities. Faculty members will also receive an announcement via QCMailer.
Two opportunities are available in January 2012 for faculty interested in teaching online.
The first is a hybrid bootcamp at Queens College, scheduled for January 9-13. The bootcamp is offered in hybrid mode, including face-to-face sessions January 9, 10, and 13, and asynchronous work on January 11 and 12.
The CUNY Office of Academic Affairs is also sponsoring certification workshops for online and hybrid course instruction. Those workshops are led by the faculty development team at the School of Professional Studies, and involve faculty from around CUNY. The workshops are completely online, and the activities and assignments are asynchronous within the scheduled two-week period.
Both workshops offer stipends for participants, both require sign-off from departmental chairs, and both involve the expectation that participants will teach a hybrid or fully online course in spring or fall 2012. (Participating in both workshops is not advisable. See RFPs for other eligibility requirements.)
