Introducing a new resource: Generative
AI in the Classroom: Best Practices, a CETLL Guide.
In 2024-2025, in collaboration with Amy Wan, Professor of English and Special Assistant to the Provost for Writing, CETLL hosted a Generative
AI in the Classroom Faculty Fellowship*, through which an interdisciplinary cohort of thirteen faculty members were supported to critically engage the different concerns and opportunities that generative AI presents for our work as educators.
From our discussions with the Faculty Fellows and other resources, we have developed Generative
AI in the Classroom: Best Practices, a CETLL Guide. This guide includes step-by-step guidance about how to engage with questions of generative AI in your classrooms, sample syllabus statements, assignments, resources developed by the Faculty Fellows,
and recommended readings and resources for your use. This guide is licensed under a Creative
Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.

This fall, CETLL is offering a series of workshops covering advanced features
in Brightspace.
Sessions on each topic will be offered twice, in order to accommodate faculty schedules. The first session will take place in person on
campus. The second session will be online via Zoom.
The first two topics will present an overview for faculty who are new to Brightspace or need a refresher. The remainder of the topics
will focus on advanced features of Brightspace.
Each session will begin with a demonstration, followed by a hands-on period where you can apply what you learned to your Brightspace course.

hours where you can ask the team any questions about using Brightspace and other instructional technologies in your courses as well as other teaching-related matters!

Career-Connected Learning
in the Curriculum
|
|
|
|
Join us on September 16, 2025, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Muyskens Conference Room (The Summit) for Career-Connected
Learning in the Curriculum Event.
Dr. Maria DeLongoria, QC Associate Provost for Academic
and Faculty Affairs, will provide opening remarks, followed by two guest speakers:
Dr. Niesha Taylor, Director of Career Readiness, National
Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), will discuss the NACE career competencies and why it is so critical to help students learn how to represent their career proficiencies throughout their academic journey, and will present best practices
for academically rigorous competency integration in the curriculum.
Dr. Robin Kietlinski, Professor of History, LaGuardia
Community College; CUNY Office of Career and Industry Partnership (OCIP) Strategy Innovation Fellow, will showcase the CUNY faculty-created Career-Connected Learning Resource Hub, a tool to help CUNY faculty from all disciplines incorporate
career-connected learning into their courses, and will spotlight examples of how the tool is being used across campuses.
We’'ll close with a discussion of career initiatives underway at QC, and how we can expand our efforts.

On September 3, 2025, CETLL hosted an on-campus Faculty
Orientation for new and returning faculty. Various Queens College departments, programs, and offices that support faculty in their teaching and research and support our students were present to provide information.
CETLL would like to thank all the participating departments for making the event a success: Academic Advising Center, Counseling Services,
Experiential Education, Financial Aid/Registrar/Admissions, Human Resources, Information Technology Services (ITS), Judicial Affairs & Service Learning, the Learning Commons,
the Library, Office of Special Services, PSC-CUNY, Special Collections & Archives, Student Services, and the Writing Center.
We will be compiling useful resources and information from each department to be distributed among faculty. Please stay tuned!
