Dear faculty members, We are happy to share a professional development opportunity that may be of interest to you. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a comprehensive framework to optimize teaching and learning based on the premise that there is no average learner. The framework draws from decades of scientific insights into learning, motivation, and the broad benefits of accessibility. The CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy now offers an asynchronous training course<https://www.cuny.edu/academics/faculty-affairs/cuny-innovative-teaching-academy/disability-accessibility/> that demonstrates the recently updated UDL guidelines and provides examples of course design, content, tools, activities, research, and software demonstrations that can make your work more inclusive. The course is divided into nine modules, which are being released throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. The first five modules are available now. Faculty may join the course at any time and complete the modules at their own pace.
