Dear colleagues,
Please let your students know about
an exciting new course in fall 2012: Collaborative Workshop in Theatre
and Dance, co-taught by Katherine Profeta and Edisa Weeks with the Dept.
of Drama Theatre and Dance.
Thursdays 1:40pm – 4:30pm
Performance Box - Rathaus Hall M11
Course # - DRAM 381 or DANC 381 (registering
under either number will add students to the same course)
Course Description: Collaborative Workshop
in Theatre and Dance is a combined studio and seminar course that investigates
the collaborative process and interdisciplinary work between theatre and
dance. Through readings, videos, attending live performances, workshops,
discussions, research and the creation of performance projects, participants
will become familiar with artists at the forefront of merging theater and
dance; experiment with a range of methods for creating interdisciplinary
work; and develop analytical, writing, creative and collaborative skills.
This course fulfills the new Synthesis requirement at Queens College, and
is perfect for students of various majors interested in the collaborative
process and interdisciplinary connections.
Some prior acting or choreography experience
is required. There are a list of pre-reqs on CUNYfirst, however if
students can show a similar experience acquired in a different way, they
can contact the instructors to request a waiver.
If you have any questions, please contact
Katherine (katherine.profeta@qc.cuny.edu) or Edisa (eweeks@qc.cuny.edu).
Best wishes,
Eva.
