I’m writing as the Scholarships and Fellowships advisor on campus – promoting national and prestigious scholarships and fellowships on campus and supporting our students in applying - I've attached our October Monthly. The Honors and Scholarships Office is currently promoting the Jeannette K. Introducing a new resource from CETLL: Recognition of Service: Information for Faculty Seeking Tenure, Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE), and Promotion<https://www.qc.cuny.edu/cetll/recognition-of-service-information-for-facult…> Service is an important element of the faculty experience at Queens College. In Spring 2025, the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (CETLL) convened two panels about fulfilling expectations for service activities for QC faculty at various stages of tenure and promotion. Each of the panels was comprised of deans, department chairs, and faculty members, including a Provost’s Faculty Fellow. CETLL: Can you explain the function of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) at Queens College? Lizandra Friedland: Our overarching goal is to support a culture of inquiry, evidence, and innovation at the College. We do this by providing access to reliable data, by fielding applied research projects, and by supporting assessment and grant-related efforts across the college. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) was established in 2016 as a reorganization of the former Office of Institutional Research. While the office continues to carry out traditional IR functions, such as compliance reporting, our focus is on collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data to systematically investigate practical challenges and inform decision-making in ways that meaningfully support the campus community.
