Extended Drop-in Hours with CETLL beginning June 3

>From The Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (CETLL): CETLL reminds faculty that courses currently being conducted through Blackboard will be conducted through Brightspace starting with the Summer 2024 semester. Queens College will no longer use Blackboard. To provide support during the transition to Brightspace, CETLL will extend our drop-in hours during the summer, starting on Monday, June 3. >From the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (CETLL): With the end of the semester approaching, CETLL has prepared a checklist of tasks that should be completed in the next couple of weeks, including resolving incomplete grades, reserving course materials for fall, and submitting grades. CETLL would like to remind faculty that Queens College courses being conducted through Blackboard will be conducted through Brightspace starting in Summer 2024. We will no longer use Blackboard. The checklist has important information about transitioning to Brightspace, including how to back up your Blackboard courses to Brightspace. Dr. Furtak is a professor of STEM Education at the University of Colorado Boulder and a writing coach with the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity. Community Engaged Learning Faculty Workshops: Fall 2024-Spring 2025

Community Engaged Learning Fall 2024-Spring 2025 Faculty Workshops In collaboration with the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (CETLL), Dr. Leslee Grey (Secondary Education and Youth Services) and Cristina Di Meo (Experiential Education) will facilitate 3 workshops in Fall 2024 to help guide up to 5 faculty in creating and integrating a Community Engaged Learning (CEL) project into an existing course. CEL is defined as an educational approach that integrates academic learning with community-based experiences to foster active citizenship, social responsibility, and civic engagement. Workshops will include support with course design, incorporating structured reflection, assessment, and developing community partnerships. Faculty will then teach their revised course in Spring 2025. Faculty in all disciplines are invited and welcome.
