We thought it might be helpful to give you a space to share what’s worked and what hasn’t, to connect with each other across sessions of OTE and across campuses, and to put your collective knowledge to the task of planning for another semester of guiding your students’ scientific development. Global Scholars Achieving Career Success (GSACS) Call for Applications

On behalf of the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) at Queens College and the Global Scholars Achieving Career Success (GSACS) **Call for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 Courses** Queens College has been awarded a grant for a virtual exchange project, Global Scholars Achieving Career Success (GSACS), from the Stevens Initiative which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with funding provided by the U.S. Government, and is administered by the Aspen Institute. GSACS connects students from the five CUNY colleges and university students in Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco. During this two-year project, students will work together on experiential learning projects that explore UN Sustainable Development Goals within their local and international communities as well as engage in career development. All faculty across disciplines are invited to apply to participate in this GSACS project. You may decide to implement this project in an existing course for the Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 semester. Reminder: Self-paced Best Practices for Teaching Online at Queens College, May 3-June 4

The Center for Teaching & Learning is offering a five-session asynchronous Best Practices for Teaching Online workshop from May 3 to June 4, 2021. After participating in this workshop, faculty will be able to: offer a student-centered learning experience in an online learning environment, support students in achieving essential learning objectives creatively and flexibly, re-imagine face-to-face pedagogies and projects in an online environment, demonstrate competency in choosing and using digital tools for teaching remotely, design effective online learning activities that engage students in the learning process, and support the achievement of intended student learning outcomes. Faculty can choose to take the workshop in Blackboard or Google Classroom. We are offering two certifications: • Full Teaching Online Certification is offered both on Blackboard and Google Classroom. Faculty who successfully complete the Full Teaching Online training will receive a certificate of completion and compensation of $500 for their participation. • Emergency Teaching Online Certification is only offered on Blackboard. Faculty who successfully complete the Emergency Teaching Online training will receive a certificate of completion and compensation of $150 for their participation. This session will focus on Alternative Assessment and will be held on April 21st, from 12:15-1:30 PM.
