Our next event, Beat the Pandemic II, is May 29-31, 2020. This 48-hour virtual event, a follow-up to our first Beat the Pandemic event in early April, will focus on addressing new issues that have arisen now that we are several months into the ongoing pandemic. Your contribution to the Challenge can take the form of participant, mentor, judge, or partner organization. Participants will form teams on Friday, May 29th to home in on key problems and generate solutions, including proof of concepts, prototypes, and preliminary vision for execution. Throughout the weekend, teams will connect with mentors to refine their solutions. On Sunday, May 31st, teams will reconvene to present their work before a panel of expert judges. After the weekend, the best ideas and teams will have the opportunity to co-develop and implement their solution with the support of our partners. Assessment in a Fully Online Environment – CTL webinar

As we approach the end of the spring 2020 semester, first let's all take a collective deep breath. As the final exam period approaches, many of us are considering how best to approach the final course assessment. How do we effectively and fairly assess our students learning in this online environment? Can I transform online assessments to an advantage for myself and my students? What can I do to maximize students' efforts and disincentivize academic dishonesty? Dive into the Collaborative Process If you want to expand your creative toolbox, develop your skills as a director or choreographer, and gather game structures and strategies to use when teaching; the Drama 381/Dance 381 Collaborative Workshop course is for you! DRAMA 381/DANCE 381 Collaborative Workshop in Theatre & Dance Prof. Tracy Hazas (Theater) & Prof. Edisa Weeks (Dance) Fall 2020 Fridays 9:10am-noon 3 credits Collaborative Workshop in Theatre & Dance is a studio, seminar and hybrid course that will challenge you to work from your strengths and to expand into new areas of possibility. We will watch videos, read and discuss ideas about what performance and the collaborative process can be, engage in a variety of practical experiments, and create culminating performance projects. This course is perfect for students majoring in Dance, Drama, Education, English, Music, Psychology, Sociology and Visual Arts; as well as anyone interested in the collaborative process and interdisciplinary work.
