Free Oral History Training Workshop in Bayside!

Hello all, and happy New Year! Queens Memory would like to invite all those interested to our first free oral history training workshop of the new year! The session will be co-hosted by the Bayside Historical Society and will take place on Wednesday, January 22, from 6 to 8 pm at the Castle at Fort Totten (208 Totten Ave., Bayside). You will learn how to prepare for an interview, ask good questions, make a high-quality recording, and how to submit your completed interview to the library. The session will also feature a discussion of several current and upcoming Queens Memory projects. **Call for Participants: Teaching for Student Success: A Faculty Discussion Series – Spring 2020** The Center for Teaching & Learning is pleased to offer a discussion series for faculty interested in exploring research on learning and how it can be applied to enhance teaching practice and support student success. Using readings from the book "How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Effective Teaching" (Ambrose et al., 2010), this discussion series will provide an opportunity for faculty to engage in an extended conversation about teaching and learning with colleagues from all disciplines. Faculty who participate in 7 of the 8 sessions including the CTL Teaching Showcase on May 1 will receive a stipend of $700 (paid as non-teaching adjunct salary in June 2020; workload restrictions apply). **Please register at: http://bit.ly/cfp-tss-sp2020** The application deadline is Friday, January 10, 2020.
