Call for Participants: Strategies for Teaching Online: Developing Online and Hybrid Courses - Spring 2019

The Center for Teaching & Learning is offering an eight-week summer workshop on the development and implementation of online and hybrid courses (courses that blend online and face-to-face instruction). Faculty from all academic disciplines are invited to apply by completing this form: https://tinyurl.com/cfp-teach-online-spring-2019 Please apply no later than **December 23, 2018.** Selected participants will be notified by **December 28, 2018.** No experience teaching online is necessary, but space is limited so we will give priority to participants who will teach at least one hybrid or online course in summer/fall 2019 and/or winter/spring 2020. Harlem Gallery Exhibits Queens Memory Story Quilt

Hello all, Queens Memory is honored to have our Community Story Quilt, created this past summer at a series of workshops at Flushing Library, included in the Walls-Ortiz Gallery<https://www.facebook.com/WallsOrtizGalleryandCenter/> as part of its "Conversations with Harriet and Frederick: Stories Told, Journeys Unfold" exhibit, from Dec. 13, 2018, through Feb. 28, 2019. The theme of the exhibit that connects with our quilt is the idea of "making visible the stories of lesser known journeys." There will be an opening reception and artist panel discussion this Thursday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 7 pm, and our own teaching artist (and QC graduate art student) Naomi Kuo will be featured on the panel. Blackboard Upgrade Announcement

Dear Colleagues, CUNY CIS upgrades Blackboard once a year, at the end of December. The Fall 2018 Blackboard upgrade is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 27th at 6:00 am and is expected to be completed by the close of business on Friday, December 28th. Blackboard will be taken offline and there will be no access to the environment during the upgrade. The end of term and last day of finals is Friday, December 21st. CUNYfirst grade rosters are scheduled to open on Friday, December 14th and close on Friday, December 28th.
