We may host the Lieutenant Governor if Albany developments permit. · In his 2018 State of the State, Governor Cuomo announced an initiative to deploy an unprecedented 1,500 megawatts of energy storage by 2025 and employ 30,000 New Yorkers in the energy storage sector. To support this, the Governor also announced: o NY Green Bank will make available at least $200 million in financing for energy storage-related investments. o A commitment of $60 million in NYSERDA funding to support the energy storage sector. · The 1,500-megawatt target is one of the largest such commitments by any state. (New Jersey has committed to 2,000-megawatts by 2030). · The state is announcing the release of the state’s comprehensive Energy Storage Roadmap (Roadmap). · The Roadmap will guide New York toward reaching the 1,500-megawatt target. · Achieving the 1,500-megawatt target will produce $2 billion in gross benefits to New Yorkers by reducing reliance on costly, dirty and inefficient infrastructure and helping to scale clean energy. · To support the Roadmap and energy storage targets, NY Green Bank is releasing a Request for Information to solicit direct interest from project developers on how it can address financing gaps and support energy storage projects. · NY Green Bank is also expected to issue a Request for Proposals later this year for projects combing solar and energy storage.
