Subject: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Fund Raiser FUN! As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease. National Denim Day, founded eleven years ago, is the largest single-day fundraiser aimed towards the fight against breast cancer. To date, more than $61 million dollars have been raised. To expand upon this idea, The Office of Human Resources is sponsoring "Denim Fridays" for the month of October. In order to raise funds for this cause, the cost of participation is $5.00 for each Friday that one participates, with all proceeds going to the Lee National Denim Day Foundation. Participants are allowed to wear jeans to work for every Friday that they choose to participate. For example, five dollars will allow you to dress down one Friday, ten dollars for two, etc. Since there are five Fridays in October, and knowing how everyone loves a bargain, we are offering a discount of 5 Fridays for $20.00. All responding participants will have a "pink patch" with their name on them display in the hallway outside OHR in Kiely Hall. We accept cash, credit cards and checks made payable to the Lee National Denim Day Foundation. The first 100 to respond will receive a pink ribbon pin to proudly display their contribution. As an added bonus, on the final Friday in October (31stth), anyone who visits OHR in costume is invited to participate in a Best Costume Contest. As all participants from years past can tell you, it is a lot of fun and our winners can attest to the wonderful prizes! Get together as a department and show the rest of the QC Community that you care! If you already wear jeans to work, then make them count! If you don't dress down, here's your chance.
