Happy December, Everyone!

 

I am writing to remind all Student Affairs staff members to please support your favorite charity through the CUNY Campaign.  Last year, the Division of Student Affairs came in second place in total giving at QC, and I know this group of wonderful and committed people can do even better!

 

One way to support our own would be to donate to the Child Development Center at Queens College or the Queens College Foundation.  Both of these entities provide direct help to our students, many of whom struggle to complete their education.   Any size contribution would help, even just one or two dollars per paycheck.

The Power of One - The Strength of Many

#GivingTuesday is a day for giving thanks. We have two days for getting deals. Tomorrow, we will have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

It's a simple idea: Just find a way for your family, your community, your company, or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity by supporting the CUNY Campaign. We need your help to meet our goal of $20,000!

Please go to www.giveattheoffice.org/_cuny to make your online donation. You will need your New York State Employee ID from your paystub to register and make your pledge. You can also obtain a paper pledge form from your division's CUNY Campaign captain or from Mary Aboki, Human Resources, Kiely Hall 163. Remember, you can always make a one-time gift with a check/money order payable to The CUNY Campaign or via a credit/debit card.

#GivingTuesday allows you to give from the heart. At the end of the day, big or small, every bit counts.
