Queens College--consistent with recommendations from the college's Academic Senate, Personnel and Budget Committee, and Student Association-is extending the flexible grading policy to the Fall 2020 semester. Students enrolled in most classes at QC can convert letter grades from B+ to D (undergraduate students) or B+ to C- (graduate students) into a grade of Credit ("CR"); F can be converted to No Credit ("NC"). Unlike traditional letter grades, grades of CR or NC do not affect grade point averages. The flexible grading option is not available for categories of courses needed for licensure or certification, or for prerequisite classes with minimum grades set for progression in a particular course sequence. Queens College's policy is designed to help prevent adverse impact to students as they advance with their education or pursue professional tracks. To summarize, you can opt in for a CR/NC grade for any or all courses that aren't on the exclusion list. You can, of course, keep any and all regular letter grades you earn.
