Dear all,
Our colleague, Fabian Wander at Hostos, has asked that I share the information below with you.
Regards,
Laurie
Dear Community Partner:
To briefly introduce myself – my name is Jessica Greenberg. I am an immigration attorney and the Director of Bronx Immigration Services at Catholic Charities Community Services where I am fortunate to serve and
respond to the immigration legal needs of the borough’s noncitizens.
The Bronx is a tapestry of diverse immigrant communities and allies. As diverse as each community may be, the U.S. immigration system is universally frustrating and confusing. Its impact is wide-ranging, too,
extending far beyond the court. An individual’s immigration status affects eligibility for benefits and services, and it causes anxiety and fear to the noncitizen and his/her loved ones. For these reasons,
Nina McDermott, our Director of Hotline Services and Training, and I will be hosting an “immigration law primer” for social workers, case managers, educators, advocates, etc. on
December 14, 2020, at 12:00 pm. We will provide an overview of the immigration system, the avenues of obtaining immigration relief, and advocacy resources.
We invite each of you to attend this workshop and to share this invitation with your colleagues. To RSVP, please complete this
Google
Form. A calendar invitation with the Zoom information will be shared with the registered attendees a few days prior to the workshop.
Thank you!
