Dear Colleagues:
The LICSPA (Long Island Council of Student Personnel Administrators) 2014 Conference Committee is now accepting proposals for innovative workshop sessions. We strongly encourage everyone in higher education to offer submissions for this year’s conference to be held at Adelphi University on Friday, February 7, 2014.
Program proposals should reflect the conference theme, “Higher Education in the 21st Century: Effective Strategies for Success”. There are a number of suggested areas for proposals focusing on this theme including Advising and Counseling; Assessment, Evaluation, and Research; Ethical Professional Practice; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Law, Policy, and Governance; Mental Health and Wellness; Leadership Programming; Residence Life/Residential Programming; Student Learning and Development for Special Populations; and Technology Use in Higher Education. This list is not exclusive, therefore, we welcome other ideas/areas for presentation. We encourage you to submit a program proposal and share your knowledge with other professionals in higher education.
Although the committee is unable to select all of the proposals that are submitted, we are committed to having the most well rounded selection of program sessions for the conference. All proposals must be submitted online to licspa@gmail.com and are due no later than December 2, 2013. Selection review will be in December and notifications will immediately follow by email.
LICSPA aims to improve the quality of higher education practices and was organized in 1955 through the cooperation, support and planning of some of Long Island's higher education institution's finest student affairs professionals. LICSPA shares the policies and recommendations of member institutions concerning student affairs as well as assists in the organization and mobilization of resources for all areas of student affairs within the member institutions. If you wish to attend the conference, information will be available shortly on our website, www.licspa.net
We look forward to receiving your program proposal.
Sincerely,
Susan DiMonda
LICSPA President
