Good day,
CUNY's Central Office of Student Affairs (COSA) and the CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy (CITA) announce the CUNY Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program to support faculty and staff within the HEO series. Selected fellows will attend a professional development series and create and implement equity- and justice-based workshops. The goal of the workshops and the program is for the fellows to engage their colleagues in building safe, inclusive learning environments for all members of CUNY communities.
Please see this form CUNY Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program 2023 Application Form (google.com)<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__docs.google.com_forms_… > for details and submit the application by noon Monday, March 27, 2023. We will contact those selected by Tuesday, April 11, 2023. The fellows will receive $1,500 each for their work from April through November 2023.
CUNY Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program 2023 Application Form
Due to systemic oppressions and implicit and explicit biases, our college campuses and broader communities are plagued with inequities for historically and currently marginalized populations. Political polarization combined with identity hate crimes based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, ability, and immigrant status continue to impact our own CUNY community, New York City, and the nation at large. Locally, then, it is critical for us to develop inclusive learning environments and transformative experiences for all our CUNY stakeholders, with the intention of dismantling divisive and damaging dispositions, behaviors, and systems within our school contexts.
In partnership, CUNY's Central Office of Student Affairs (COSA) and the CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy (CITA)<https://www.cuny.edu/academics/faculty-affairs/cuny-innovative-teaching-aca…> have thus created a fellowship program to support faculty, staff within the HEO series, and student leaders who will work collaboratively to create and implement equity- and justice-based workshops that help their colleagues enhance their campus climates and cultures so that we all begin to engage more intentionally and thoughtfully to create safe and brave sanctuaries for our students and colleagues.
If you have any questions, please email CUNY Central's Mari Watanabe-Rose (mari.watanabe(a)cuny.edu<mailto:mari.watanabe@cuny.edu<mailto:mari.watanabe@cuny.edu<mailto:mari.watanabe@cuny.edu>>).
All best,
COSA and CITA Team
