Good Afternoon Student Affairs, For the annual leave year ending 8/31/21, the August 31st deadline to use annual leave will be extended to 12/31/21, as follows: * Annual leave above the designated cap as of the close of business 8/31/21 may be carried into the annual leave year that begins 9/1/21. * The annual leave balance in excess of the cap will be deducted from the employee's accrual balance on December 31, 2021. * For PSC members, the provisions of Article 14.9(b) concerning compensation for an annual leave balance if the employee is separated from service will remain in effect, except that, for the annual leave year ending on 8/31/21 only, the annual leave payment due to the employee upon separation, or to his/her estate, shall be the lesser of: (1) the leave balance to the employee's credit on the date of resignation, retirement or death; or (2) the contractual cap, (45 days or the personal accrual maximum as of August 31, 1987). Nothing here is intended to alter the provisions of Article 14.9(b), except as specifically set forth in this agreement. * Unscheduled holidays from the annual leave year ending 8/31/21 will not be carried over. SENT ON BEHALF OF LEE KELLY, ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT The University will implement the four-day summer work week during the period of Monday, June 21st through Friday, August 13th excluding the workweek that includes Independence Day. The Independence Day Holiday will be celebrated on Monday, July 5th, 2021, and during that week, the staff will work regular seven-hour days on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. As has been the practice in the past, the Building and Grounds staff, including custodial and skilled trades staff members, and the Public Safety staff will follow their regular five-day work schedules during the summer. Staff members may follow one of the work schedules listed below. For individuals selecting the long work day, the 35-hour work week will be consolidated into four days, Monday through Thursday. Any annual or sick leave days used during this period will be charged as 1 day and 1 ¾ hours. Individuals wishing to work their regular hours may continue to do so, and will be charged 1 day of annual leave on each of the six Fridays. LONG WORK DAY: 8:15 A.M. – 5:30 P.M. WITH A 30 MINUTE LUNCH PERIOD SHORT WORK DAY: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. WITH A ONE HOUR LUNCH PERIOD FRIDAYS WILL BE CHARGED TO ANNUAL LEAVE Any deviation from these schedules will require the prior approval of the staff member’s immediate supervisor and the Office of Human Resources. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that employees adhere to the hours of the altered schedule. If working a four-day schedule creates a hardship, the employee should discuss the matter with Human Resources to determine whether an accommodation is possible. Greetings Student Affairs, Please join us for CUNY Pridefest and share with your students, colleagues, families and friends! 4th Annual CUNY Pridefest at Queens College Friday, 6/25 4pm - 6pm EVENT DESCRIPTION: Faculty, staff and students from CUNY's (11) senior colleges, (7) community colleges and (7) honors and professional schools will celebrate their virtual pride this year with a celebration that includes exciting drag performances to entertain us, talented musical acts to keep the energy alive and more. Our DJ will be pumping, PRIDE dancers will be featured, and the festival-goers can capture their favorite moments with our virtual photo booth. This event will be livestreamed on YouTube.
