Please complete the attached form and send back no later than June 30, 2016. The form you complete will be viewed by all eligible work study students for the Fall 2016 semester. They will have the opportunity to choose where they wish to work. Please complete the entire form with special attention to the job description and hours needed. Job Description must list any special skills required and Hours Needed is specifically for certain times of the day( eg. 2pm-4pm Mon, Wed). If you do not require specific hours , please put the word "flexible" on that line. ***New this year*** The CUNY Financial Aid Central Office clarified that only QC employees that are listed on CunyFirst will be able to be supervisors listed on the Acknowledgement Form and signing the time sheets. *** In the past , we could have the QC employee sign the Acknowledgment Form and the alternate supervisor sign the time sheet- this is no longer valid. Please submit this attached form by the deadline. Students will be receiving emails telling them about FWS Placement. In these emails, students will be instructed to look at the Job listings. We want to make sure your job listing is there. 2016 REGION II CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Application Deadline: May 17, 2016 Region II will be able to support a graduate, undergraduate student or a new professional to participate in this year's conference by funding the cost of the conference registration. If selected, you will be required to fund your travel, meals and lodging. The scholarship only covers the registration fee. All applicants must be a current graduate, undergraduate, or new professional (currently employed and in the profession no more than 3 years.) Eligibility is limited to applicants who are not being funded by a college or university to attend the Regional Conference. The selected candidate will be asked to sign off on this criterion at a later date. Requirements: If selected, you would be required to: During Conference: * Volunteer at least one hour during the Conference. * Attend at least two conference educational sessions, as well as the featured speaker and welcome reception. After Conference: * Write an essay, create a video, or provide some other method of reflecting on your conference experience, including a description of how well conference attendance goals were achieved, what was learned from volunteer experience, how commitment to field was bolstered, and how conference educational sessions addressed the achievement of learning outcomes. NASPA Region II may utilize this in future years to promote our scholarship program. Sharing, Jennifer SENT ON BEHALF OF REINALDA MEDINA, ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT The University will implement the four-day summer work week during the period of Monday, June 20, 2016 through Friday, August 5, 2016. The Independence Day Holiday will be celebrated on Monday, July 4, 2016 and during that week the staff will work regular seven hour days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and Friday. As has been the practice in the past, the Building and Grounds staff, including custodial and skilled trades staff members, and the Public Safety staff will follow their regular five day work schedules during the summer. The 35-hour work week will be consolidated into four days, Monday through Thursday. Staff members may follow one of the work schedules listed below. For individuals selecting the long work day, any day of annual or sick leave used during this period will be charged as 1 day and 1 ¾ hours. Individuals wishing to work their regular hours may continue to so, but will be charged 1 day of annual leave on each of the six Fridays. LONG WORK DAY: 8:15AM - 5:30PM WITH A 30 MINUTE LUNCH PERIOD SHORT WORK DAY: 9AM - 5PM WITH A ONE HOUR LUNCH PERIOD FRIDAYS WILL BE CHARGED TO ANNUAL LEAVE Any deviation from these schedules will require the prior approval of the staff member's immediate supervisor and the Office of Human Resources. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that employees adhere to the hours of the altered schedule. If working a four day schedule creates a hardship for an employee it should be discussed with me to determine whether an accommodation is possible. Employees are required to complete the attached summer four-day work week option form and return it to the Office of Human Resources, to the attention of the: Compensation and Benefits Unit-Kiely Hall Room 151 by June 3, 2016.
