[QCsenate 0278] Reminder re: Campus Safety Committee
Dear Senators, I hope this message finds you well! As Chair Plummer announced at last month's Academic Senate meeting, President Wu has asked the Academic Senate to nominate six (6) faculty members for possible appointment to the Campus Safety Committee. Per section 6431 of the Education Law: Such committee shall consist of a minimum of six members, at least half of whom shall be female; one-third of the committee shall be appointed from a list of students that contains at least twice the number to be appointed which is provided by the largest student governance organization on such campus, one-third thereof shall be appointment from a list of faculty members that contains twice the number to be appointed which is provided by the largest faculty organization on such campus, and one-third of whom shall be selected by the president or chief administrative officer. With these guidelines in mind, the Academic Senate has been asked to offer the President (1) names of persons who would be able to serve the remainder of this academic year (2025-2026) and (2) names of persons who would be able to serve next academic year (2026-2027). Please share this information with your colleagues. If you or anyone you know is available and interested in serving on the Campus Safety Committee this year and/or next year, please submit an application using the Academic Senate Committee Application link found under "Get Involved" on the Academic Senate website. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
