Subject: Meeting of the Executive Comm of the Board of Trustees

Dear Colleagues

In an essentially anti climactic meeting, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees removed the motion to table the Honorary Degree for Tony Kushner voted by the John Jay faculty (tabled at May 2) and reversed its veto to that degree with a unanimous vote;

    RESOLVED  That the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees hereby approves the award of an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice to Tony Kushner.

    The new position claims to be based on a review of the public record concerning Mr Kushner

   The Executive Committee heard the Chancellor deliver an encomium to his work and the trustees chimed in.  Yours truly thanked them for recognizing the wisdom of the faculty which usually trumps all else.

Sandi
