Dear QC AS Senators,
The CUNY Pathways Steering Committee has released the November 1, 2011 Draft Common Core Structure .

This structure, set in context, can be seen in the October 28, 20011 CUNY Pathways Committee meeting summary at the CUNY Pathways Progress landing page, under the link to "Seventh Steering Committee meeting" at http://www.cuny.edu/academics/initiatives/degreepathways/planning-process.html This CUNY Committee is chaired by CUNY Law School Dean Michelle Anderson. The Draft is similar IN STRUCTURE to the first model which we discussed at our last Academic Senate meeting; some the explanatory materials have changed.

The QC Senate Ad Hoc Committee, formed to discuss the Pathways committee will be meeting two more times before our next QC Senate meeting on November 10. It will be supplying input to the QC Steering Committee, chaired by QC General Education Dean Judith Summerfield, which will write the Queens College response to CUNY due ON NOVEMBER 15!!!.

Please continue to contribute your much needed feedback to the QC Ad Hoc Committee, which you can send to me and to Dean Summerfield. There are other groups on campus who are also discussing these issues. I encourage you all to write to others as well and to participate in these committees across campus. [I know there's lots of committees listed in this note ... so, if you have something to contribute and are unsure where to send it, please send it to me and I will pass it along].

I look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting, which will include a brief update on the Ad Hoc Committee activities.
