A Town hall on The Importance of Teaching Evaluations
Each semester, Queens College conducts online surveys to get student input about what the classroom environment feels like. These evaluations measure aspects of teaching and course design, and ultimately contribute to ways of gauging teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes. However, the effectiveness of teaching evaluations depends on students participating and completing evaluations of their courses.
At this event, students, professors, and administrators will describe uses of teaching evaluations and their implications. This event will feature a presentation by Provost Jim Stellar, a look at recent trends in evaluations at QC, professor input, and the announcement of Fall 2010 evaluation prize winners! Light refreshments will be served. Please join us and take the time to encourage your students and colleagues to attend!
