I’m happy to share that the office of the NYS Assemblymember Marcos Crespo has once again invited CUNY to participate in the NYS Somos Collegiate Summit The SOMOS Conferences, held twice yearly, serve as a platform for legislators, scholars, business and labor leaders to address various concerns pertinent to this community. Thought-provoking workshops on key issues, such as business development, health, and education, recruit support on new and existing legislation aimed to address the needs of the Hispanic population of New York. Additionally, SOMOS, Inc. empowers youths with scholarships that encourage furthering their education; college internships to promote retention; and apprenticeships to introduce newly graduated adults into the public, nonprofit, labor, and private sectors. The organization aims to create opportunities for Hispanic youth that will facilitate their professional development, growth, and future success. (Day trip: March 8, 2019) in Albany, New York. This trip will include: - FREE Transportation - Visit over 70 booths/tables of cultural, government, private and non-profit partners - FREE Participation in the Collegiate Summit - Meet with college students from all across NYS: Public, Private and Proprietary Colleges - FREE Networking Lunch with NYS Elected Officials - FREE Tour of the Capitol

Attention Greek Life: Moving forward all request under 10 business days will not be honored. Also, the Presidents should be the only ones submitting room reservations on behalf of each organization. Example: James Cajas president of TEP should be completing the room request and locating either Samantha Koske or Skylah Polanco for a signature and then he would submit the paperwork. The google form will no longer be used to avoid any miscommunication. This will be my last warning. Expect all room reservations that don’t meet the minimum to not be signed off by the Inter Greek Council moving forward. Thank You, Melody A. They are the Activities/Philanthropy committee and the Special Projects committee. The purpose for the Activities and Philanthropy committee is to create and implement ideas for events, like Greek Week, and organize philanthropy projects. On the other hand, the purpose for the Special Projects committee is to organize the Awards packet for Greek Awards Night and oversee the planning of the boulders proposal. Expectations: * Participate in committee meetings, which will be held twice a month. * Assist with planning and coordinating events. * Promote IGC events to Greek and non Greeks. * Manage and maintain documentation for all contracts and proposals. Good Evening Students, The following February programs will grant you audit credit - please have a minimum of four attendees with the exception of Lambda Pi Upsilon, Gamma Omega Delta, Epsilon Sigma Phi and Alpha Kappa Alpha which will need a minimum of two attendees. Good Evening Greek Life, Unfortunately, the Inter Greek Weekly will not be going out this week. Let me remind you that this newsletter is something that many of you ALL ASKED FOR and are now submitting no content for. Content that applies to this newsletter are the following: * Flyers/Events happening around Campus * Pictures highlighting a recent community service your organization was a part of * Content regarding conferences that your chapter is attending * Any national recognition your organization has received * Any exciting things on campus you feel Greek Life should be a part of If you have any questions regarding content please reach out to me! Also - I will try this again. Epsilon Sigma Phi and Tau Epsilon Phi were the two organizations chosen to be featured this week. Tau Epsilon Phi - you never sent me any content.
