The Ohio University Combined Master of Science and Dietetic Internship program is a newer internship that does not receive hundreds of applicants, which allows us to consider each applicant as a whole person and to take the time to evaluate all the factors that may make them a successful intern in our program. We are also a smaller internship (10 interns/year) which allows us to provide interns the individual attention they may need to succeed. Thanks Kim Hello. We know the dietetic internship match season can be a stressful time, so we wanted to remind you that we’re here to help. If you have any questions about the Ohio University Combined Master of Science and Dietetic Internship (MSDI) program, please let me know. I’m happy to answer questions via e-mail or schedule a time to talk with you. Additional information is also available on our website, https://www.ohio.edu/chsp/ahsw/food-nutrition/graduate/dietetic-internship <https://www.ohio.edu/chsp/ahsw/food-nutrition/graduate/dietetic-internship>. We asked our past and present interns for some highlights of our program that they thought potential interns would be interested in. Here are some of their responses: The Ohio University MSDI program is a 4-semester program (16 months), so interns who enroll in fall 2021 will graduate in December 2022. Interns are currently completing in-person clinical and hospital food service management rotation experiences, not virtual simulations. An intensive review course for the RD exam is provided for all interns during the semester before graduation. The program has a Health and Wellness Concentration, with a wide variety of community nutrition experiences. Interns obtain experience in both urban and rural communities. New this year: The MSDI program will cover the registration cost for each intern to attend a national or state conference. Two additional common questions we receive include: Applicants do not need to apply to the Ohio University Graduate School until after they match to our program. All applicants who match to our program will be admitted to the Graduate School. There is no additional application fee that needs to be paid to the Ohio University MSDI program. We look forward to receiving your application in DICAS. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
