Healthy Camper is an RD-run business that works with camps. We provide nutrition guidance and allergy awareness to the foodservice programs and help ensure that a variety of healthy choices are offered to children and staff at camp. We have created a position entitled Specialty Food Liaison that I like to fill with future RD's and nutrition professionals as our professional training is well suited for the skills needed for this role. We also deal with many medical needs that require special diets. This experience happens to be an amazing hands-on experience that provides a mixture of clinical knowledge, food service experience, and people skills. We are looking for some excellent candidates and hope you are willing to share this opportunity with your students. The job description I've attached is for The New Jersey Y Camps in Milford, PA as well as Camp Ramah Poconos (Lakewood, PA). The position is open to undergrads or graduate students who are highly motivated with a love of food and extreme attention to detail. This candidate should be very interested in food, ingredients, and food allergens. Experience in a kitchen or camp environment is a plus. Even if knowledgeable, training will be provided. At camp, they will work with everyone from the parents to the campers. They will work hard but have fun as well. This is a PAID summer position from mid-June to mid-August 2022. In addition to a salary/stipend, all accommodations along with 3 meals a day will be provided. Staff will live at camp. While previous camp experience is not required, anyone who has been to camp/attended or worked there is highly desirable.
