Hi Everyone! The QC Dietetics club is excited to announce a new DICAS Peer Support Group developed by current FNES student, Nancy Platt! This program is open to all. It’s goal is create an environment where students can support students around the DICAS application process! Starting Wednesday, November 25th, this peer support group will meet weekly to set goals, help answer questions, and foster an overall culture of accountability. Establish Goals, Talk Through Issues and Stay Motivated; Join the DICAS Peer Support Group! Group objective: The DICAS Peer Support Group is all about getting dietetic students who applying for, or planning to apply for, dietetic internships together for support. This is an opportunity to gain knowledge about the process of applying from peers going through the same thing you are, or planning to. It is based on goal setting and accountability so that everyone stays on track. But most importantly, we are gathering to support one another through this process during a time of isolation. What will we do? Everyone will get a chance to talk about their future goals and any comments, concerns, and questions about how they plan to get there, or even where to start. As a group, we will try to respond to each participant after another participant has spoken. This will help everyone determine their SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based) goals to achieve before our next meeting.
