A Discussion Forum with Melainie Rogers, MS, RDN, CDN, CEDRD-S and Jennifer Kreatsoulas, PhD, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT
Tuesday, March 2nd at 12:00-1:30 pm EST
As mothers and professional women who have undergone their own eating disorder recovery, Melainie & Jennifer seek to bring other women together to discuss how they are coping with and navigating the challenges of raising their children in the current COVID-19
pandemic.
They will share their personal experiences as moms facing many universal challenges in balancing demands at home and at work but will also address the stressors that are unique to the time we find ourselves in.
WHAT WILL BE DISCUSSED:
How does one process a myriad of emotions and manage the uncertainty that permeates our daily lives?
How can we be there to support our children yet incorporate compassion for ourselves and implement strategies of self-care?
How can we be attuned to the needs of our children yet heed the red flags that make us vulnerable to relapse and digression from a path devoted to recovery?
How can we best nourish and replenish ourselves so that we can sustain ourselves and provide rejuvenation for our families and loved ones?

The Harvest Home EFGH Program is designed to educate community residents, both at the farmer’s market and at local venues, year round. A primary goal of the project is to create educated, health conscious consumers of all ages. We achieve this by facilitating
increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, a proven preventative measure, among communities that suffer from disproportionately high rates of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. Community Chef Educators will be working with Harvest Home to
encourage residents to eat healthier and increase their intake of nutrients and fiber-rich fruits and vegetables.
The Eating for Good Health (EFGH) Nutrition Education Program brings chefs and nutritionists into our farmer’s markets for interactive cooking demonstrations that feature affordable and appealing ways of cooking regional produce. About 20,000 adult shoppers
and children receive recipes in English and Spanish that they can use at home in 2020.
