Bio: 

Sotiria Everett is a Registered Dietitian and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine’s Nutrition Division.  She joined Stony Brook University in 2016 and teaches courses in the Graduate Nutrition Program and Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. She also serves as an advisor to graduate students in the nutrition program and dietetic interns. In 2019 she also joined Stony Brook Athletic Performance and provides sports nutrition counseling for student-athletes at Stony Brook University.


Dr. Everett received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Microbiology, with a Minor in Modern Greek from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, a Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Doctoral degree in Nutrition Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.


Dr. Everett is a Registered Dietitian, Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association, the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition and Dietitians in Functional Medicine practice groups.


Sotiria stays active by running and playing on a women's ultimate frisbee team. She also enjoys hiking with her family and gets a good workout coaching her daughter's 3rd grade basketball team.
