Louisiana Tech DI - Positions Available - Virtual Open House

As you know, many Dietetic Internships currently have openings for second round matching this spring. Louisiana Tech is no exception. While we will being reaching out to students who have not matched, I wanted to take a minute to share some of the details of our program with you. You can help your non-matched students by sharing our information with them, should you feel we have the qualities that meets the student’s needs. Louisiana Tech is located in Ruston, Louisiana. Interns complete their practicum hours in one of 3 neighboring cities of their choice (based on rank- Alexandria, Shreveport or Monroe). The 11-month program features a 95% pass rate on the RD exam (within 12 months of first examination) and many of our students find employment within their rotation sites. Louisiana Tech DI provides a hometown feel with extraordinary experiences. We are a cost-effective program both academically and geographically and were even ranked by Forbes as one of America’s Best Value Colleges. Our online courses allow students to work towards a MS degree while completing the internship and continue their graduate studies after the DI is complete. We have a low student to instructor ratio and help students by working to place them with facilities and preceptors that match the student’s professional goals. We also offer the opportunity for specialty rotations. Interns can receive financial aid through FAFSA and there are many scholarship opportunities available to those who qualify. Nutrition Project Coordinator, PT/Temp The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a temporary, part-time Nutrition Project Coordinator to support the Take Action: Food Pantries initiative starting in May 2021, 3 days per week. Take Action: Food Pantries builds the capacity of emergency food providers to deliver nutrition education and culinary demonstrations and to promote awareness of prediabetes and the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) for clients. The program provides funding, training and ongoing technical assistance to participating pantries. It is part of a larger initiative, Take Action ABCD: Improve AIC control, Blood pressure control, Cholesterol management and Diabetes prevention and management, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CP MS with openings

I would like to share with you that the Coordinated Master’s Program (CP MS) at the University of Connecticut has a few openings. We have an excellent program that provides students with supervised practice and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion Sciences. The program is two academic years Plus a 6-week 6-credit externship. Our graduates have been very successful on the registration examination and securing jobs in dietetics upon program completion. Our pass rate for testers within one year of the first attempt for the last three years is 93%. Our CP MS participated in computer match and will open our portal in DICAS for students to share their generic DICAS application packet.
