Dear QC Math Ed Alumni, Happy Spring! Dr. Artzt and I are delighted to announce that there will be a reunion this June. More information will follow, soon. In the meantime, your help is needed to recruit students who would consider teaching mathematics as a profession. As you may know, we are still facing a shortage of qualified mathematics teachers. Given the negative coverage of schools and teachers in the media as well as the increase in retirements due to the pandemic, it is our responsibility to encourage students to become mathematics teachers. Please let your high school seniors know that is not too late to apply to TIME 2000 for the fall 2022 semester. And please let your high school juniors know that we will continue offering scholarships for the incoming class of fall 2023. Many of our students joined the program because a teacher said, "You would be a good teacher!" You can be that teacher! Teachers whose students join TIME 2000 will be recognized at the reunion. Hello math people, Check out this opportunity: Rate: $80 per hour Total: $1,280 for four days. Time: 4 hours per day for four days Dates: 4/19/2022 - 4/22/2022. Brownsville Collaborative Middle School will be holding exam review sessions for a select group of students. The sessions will be held for four days 4/19/2022 - 4/22/2022. I am putting together a team of three mathematics instructors (tutors) to work with the students for 4 hours per day. Each teacher will work with 10 or less hard working students from the school.
