[EnglishMA] Paid internship opportunity
Dear MA students, We received information about a P/T Paid Internship in the CUNY Office of K16 Initiatives. The official job posting has not been released yet, so if you are interested and fulfill the candidate description below, please let me know and I will forward your information to the hiring manager. Best, Hillary -- Hillary Miller Associate Professor of English Assistant Director of Graduate Studies (English MA) Queens College, CUNY Looking for Great Writers We will soon be posting a paid 10-20 hour/week internship in the CUNY Office of K16 Initiatives. If there are CUNY faculty who have ideas of candidates, suggestions of how to find them, or the possibility of connecting this to fieldwork in a spring course, it would be great to hear from them. You had mentioned you had some ideas, so please do forward this to them and let them know they can contact me. I am looking for a current CUNY undergraduate or graduate student who has a passion for equity and justice in public education and for youth who have not succeeded in schools in the past. The internship will involve gathering educational materials and program information and turning these into high-quality written reports, some for a policy audience and some for an audience of educators. The right candidate will be a great writer, highly responsible self-starter, and bring an interest or background in education. The intern will be able to largely do work on their own schedule where they like, but the internship will require participation in some in-person meetings in our office at 16 Court Street in Brooklyn and may include some travel to other CUNY campuses. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Much appreciated, Michael
