[MAEnglish] ENGL 791/thesis essay workshop on Sep. 30
Hi all, If you are currently working on your culminating thesis essay, whether you are enrolled in ENGL 791 this semester or finishing an incomplete, you are invited to attend our fall 791 workshops. These three workshops will offer support and practical resources as you write and revise your thesis essays. You will have opportunities to get feedback on your works-in-progress, ask candid questions and share concerns, and receive guidance outside of meetings with your advisor. Though attendance is not mandatory, we strongly encourage you to come. Students in past semesters have found the workshops enormously helpful. Our first 791 workshop is taking place next *Wednesday, September 30*, from 6:30-8:00pm in Klapper 610. At this workshop, we'll discuss your questions and anxieties about the process and go over some helpful advice from our faculty. You will also have the chance to introduce your topics to each other. To that end, please bring with you *3 copies of the first page of your thesis essay draft* to share and workshop. If you don't yet have a drafted first page, please bring *3 copies of your proposal* instead. Please RSVP via email (caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu) and let me know if you're planning to come to this workshop, so we can plan materials and refreshments. Please let me know even if you're working on your thesis essay but can't make it to the workshop, so I can email you materials after our meeting. And of course you can always let us know, via email or in person, if there are any questions or issues you'd like us to address in the workshops. Looking forward to hearing more about your projects next week! Best, Caroline and Bill -- Caroline Kyungah Hong, PhD Assistant Professor of English Director of Graduate Studies (English MA) Queens College, CUNY caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu
