[MAEnglish] Announcements - pre-registration, transfer credits, summer graduation, conference
Dear Graduate Students, I hope the semester is going well for everyone. Below are some mid-semester announcements, deadlines, and save the dates. Please take a moment to look through them and let one of us know if you have questions. Pre-registration for summer and fall classes will take place Tuesday April 1 through Thursday April 3. You'll be able to register in person during these three days when we'll be holding additional advising hours. You'll also be able to register via email provided your academic record is in good standing (no bursar holds or outstanding incompletes). Further pre-registration details and course descriptions to follow shortly, but for now just note the dates! Transfer credits. If you have credits earned either at Queens College before you matriculated into your current degree program or at another institution then you need to request that these credits be approved for transfer by the Graduate Admissions Office. The paperwork is quick and straightforward. For further information, email: andrea.walkden@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:andrea.walkden@qc.cuny.edu> Spring Graduation. If you're planning to graduate at the end of May and have not submitted a graduation application via your student record on CUNYFirst, you'll need to submit your application in person by visiting the Registrar's desk in the One Stop Center. http://www.qc.cuny.edu/StudentLife/services/onestop/Pages/default.aspx Summer Graduation. If you're planning to graduate in September, then you'll need to submit a graduate application via your student record on CUNYFirst. The deadline to apply for a summer graduate is April 1. Graduate Conference. And finally a reminder that the Inaugural Queens College English Graduate Conference, "BEGIN AGAIN: RENEWAL, REPETITION, REFLECTION," will be taking place on Wednesday April 9 from 11:30am to 7:00pm. Student Panels from 12:00pm to 5:30pm. Keynote Address at 5:30pm: Carrie Hintz, "Carbon Diaries, or, How to Talk to Young Adults About the End of the World." Reception to follow. Please plan to join us and support your fellow graduate students. Further details to follow!
