Hi everyone, Here are some announcements: 1. A reminder that today is the final day of *preregistration*. Please see my previous emails for instructions on how to preregister for summer and fall courses. 2. Some of you have been asking for more info re: *graduation*. The main campus-wide commencement ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning, *June 2* (for more info, see http://www.qc.cuny.edu/about/business/Campus-Events-Commencement/Pages/Comme...). The English Department graduation ceremony takes place about half an hour after the main ceremony ends, usually from around 11:30am-1:00pm, in Goldstein Theater. Graduates sit on stage and have their names called, and there's a small reception afterward, so this is really the ceremony you want your family and friends to attend. They don't need to RSVP or get tickets to attend, but parking and seating are limited, so we recommend everyone plan accordingly and get there early. We'll announce more details as we get closer to June. 3. If you're planning to take *ENGL 791* and/or write your thesis essay in Fall 2016, we'll be holding a workshop on *Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30pm*, in the lounge upstairs, Klapper 710, so please save the date. We'll have wine and snacks and answer all your questions about getting signed up for 791, writing an effective proposal, and the process of writing the thesis essay. We'll send another announcement about the workshop closer to the date. As always, please don't hesitate to email me or Bill if you have questions.
