Dear MA students, A final reminder that the deadline to submit an essay for the Nancy Comley Prize is the end of the day today, Monday, May 4 (guidelines attached). Also, if you are planning to register for ENGL 791 and write your thesis essay next semester, we will be having a virtual info session next Monday, May 11, at 5:30pm. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Bill (worchard@qc.cuny.edu) and he will send you the link to join prior to the meeting. During the session, we will go over the thesis essay process and requirements for Fall 2020, including registering for ENGL 791, writing an effective proposal, finding a faculty advisor and second reader, etc. If you're planning to take ENGL 791 in the fall but can't make this session, no worries. Please email me (caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu) anyway, so I can get you all the info/resources and advise you via email. Finally, for those of you who've been asking about the Credit/No Credit grading option for this semester, you can find more info at https://www.cuny.edu/coronavirus/credit-no-credit-policy/faq/#c-nc. FYI, they haven't yet rolled out the procedure for converting your grade via CUNYfirst, but I will be sure to update you with info and instructions once it's ready. As always, please don't hesitate to email me and Bill if you have any questions or need advising. And please continue to take care. Best, Caroline -- Caroline Kyungah Hong, PhD Associate Professor of English Director of Graduate Studies (English MA) Queens College, CUNY she/her/hers * Please note that I am off email on weekends and will respond to your email during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. At this time, there may be a delay in response time.
