You may have heard that Nancy Comley, Professor Emerita and former long-time Chair of English, passed away last month. The English Department is holding a memorial for her this Wednesday, September 21, at 4:30pm in the student art gallery (Klapper 470). Light refreshments will be served. You are welcome to join us in remembering and honoring Nancy.

Because of the memorial for Nancy, I will need to change my office hours this week. My office hours will be this Wednesday, September 21, from 2:30-4:30pm. And as always, I'm also available for advising via email and by appointment.

A reminder that anyone who is working on their thesis essays this semester is welcome to participate in our ENGL 791 workshops. The first workshop is this Wednesday, September 21, from 6:30-8:00pm in Klapper 710 (upstairs lounge). Please RSVP if you haven't already and, if you're attending, please bring with you either 3 copies of your essay's first page or your proposal.
