Dear Graduate Students,
First of all, thank you to everyone (organizers, presenters, attendees) who helped make yesterday's MA conference a huge success. And congratulations to Emily Jennings, who took home the Best Conference Presentation Prize! It was such a wonderful day, and we're already starting to scheme about the 2018 conference. We hope even more of you will get involved next year!
More announcements:
1. New Course Descriptions for Summer and Fall 2017
We have a couple new course descriptions to share. For Summer Session II, there's been a change in course topic and instructor for ENGL 781, which will now focus on law and the 20th-century novel. For the fall, we now have a course description for ENGL 629: Major Modern Writers, which will focus on "Literature and Virtuosity" and be taught by Professor Cliff Mak, our fabulous new full-time faculty member joining us next semester. Please see the attached PDFs for the course descriptions.
And please do register for your classes ASAP, as courses that are underenrolled could be in danger of being canceled by the College administration.
2. Office Hours Canceled Next Week
Because I'm participating in an event on Wednesday, May 3 (see third flyer below), I need to cancel my regular office hours. If you have questions or need help in person, please see Bill or email me to make an appointment.
3. ENGL 791 for Fall 2017
4. Upcoming Events
Please see the flyers below for info about three exciting events coming up next week.

Best,
