Utilize curricula and lesson plans to facilitate purposeful and engaging activities and on-going theme-based projects catered to the age, stage and interests of participants as well as the needs of the school community. · Assist participants with literacy; encourage academic effort and efficacy. · Collaborate with co-workers and program supervisors around effective program operations; uphold all safety and emergency standards and procedures. · Always demonstrate professional behavior. Serve as a positive role model for participants and maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with participants at all times. · Actively participate in training and professional development to continuously increase knowledge, principles and practices of child and youth development and actively use this knowledge to achieve the goals of the program. · Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among all participants. · Develop leadership skills, team-building, social emotional development and self-advocacy among all participants. · Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity. · Foster academic and non-academic skills and broaden participant horizons. · Maintain accurate daily attendance records for all assigned activities. *Required Skills/Experience:* · One year After-school work experience, one full summer camp work experience, or two years related experience. · Interest and experience in youth development and academic enrichment. · A genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities, observation, coaching, and feedback. · Availability to work 10-27 hours per week.
