Dear Graduate Students,
I hope the semester is going well for everyone! Please find below some general notices and announcements.
1.
Filing for Graduation
A reminder that if you’re planning to graduate at the end of May, then you’ll need to file a request for graduation via your student record on CUNYFirst. The process is simple and only takes a couple
of clicks but it’s important you do this before the Registrar’s deadline of March 1.
For more information about the College’s graduation policies visit:
http://www.qc.cuny.edu/registrar/graduation/Pages/GraduationPolicies.aspx
For information about the commencement ceremony on Thursday May 29, visit,
http://www.qc.cuny.edu/registrar/graduation/commencement/Pages/default.aspx
The department commencement ceremony happens after the College’s main ceremony has ended, usually around 11:30am. It is followed by a celebratory reception where faculty, students, parents, friends, family get to
mingle and meet each other. Caroline and I will both be there to fête you, as will many of your faculty instructors. Not to be missed!
2.
Graduate MA Conference
You may already have seen the CFP or “Call for Papers” for the inaugural Queens College English Graduate Conference, which will take place in the afternoon and early evening of
Wednesday, April 9. This is a wonderful opportunity to share coursework, either completed or in progress. Please consider submitting a short paper proposal—details of how to submit are attached to this
message.
3.
Office Hours
Caroline’s office hours on Tuesday the 25th will run from 4:30-6:00pm, not until 6:30pm as is usually the case.
With all good wishes,
Andrea Walkden
