Dear Graduate Students,

Many of you were involved in making last year's inaugural QC English Graduate Conference a huge success! And it's time to begin planning our second annual conference, which will take place this spring on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

This is a call for volunteers to join the Graduate Conference Committee and help organize the conference. The committee's responsibilities will include coming up with a conference theme, crafting a call for papers, making decisions on submissions, organizing panels, asking faculty to chair the panels, and promoting the conference. We plan to hold our first planning meeting at the end of October and will meet about once a month leading up to the conference.

Even if you don't volunteer, we hope that you'll submit proposals once the call for papers goes out. Conference organizers and presenters will be participating in an important aspect of professional academic life (and it looks great on CVs and applications for those of you planning to continue your graduate studies).

If you're interested in joining the 2014-15 Graduate Conference Committee, please let us know via email to caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu by Friday, October 17. We look forward to working with you on what promises to be a very rewarding and exciting event!

Best,

Andrea Walkden (andrea.walkden@qc.cuny.edu)
Director of Graduate Studies, MA English

Caroline Hong (caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu) and William Orchard (William.Orchard@qc.cuny.edu)
Assistant Directors of Graduate Studies, MA English
