Dear graduate students:

Given that many of you are still feeling the ill effects of Hurricane Sandy and are experiencing problems with power and transportation, I’m inviting you to email me your preregistration course choices as an alternative to coming onto campus and meeting with a department advisor in person.

Your email should be sent to the following address: andrea.walkden@qc.cuny.edu. DON’T reply to this email which comes from the MA list serve. Please make sure that your message includes:

·         your 8-digit CUNY ID number and full name
(if you don’t know your ID number, please say so and I’ll send it you)

·         the course numbers and 4- or 5-digit course codes of all the courses for which you wish to register. e.g. English 726 (code: 11147)

Please also make sure that you don’t have any holds on your Bursar account and that you have registration privileges for the Spring 2013 semester. (If you don’t have privileges, this likely means that you need to file for reentry into the program with the Registrar’s Office before being permitted to register.)

I will pre-register students in the order in which I receive the email requests, sending a confirmation email once I have done so. I must receive your request before 6pm on Wednesday, November 7. If you’ve already emailed me explaining that you can’t make it onto campus and giving me your course choices, you needn’t email again. And if you have other pre-registration questions, please refer first to the instructions attached to this email and check that your question isn’t answered there.

Caroline Hong and myself will still be available on campus today and tomorrow (Tues: 12:00 – 6:30; Wed: 1:40-7:00) for advising and preregistration if you’d prefer to meet with one of us in person. Self-service registration will begin for all matriculated students next Monday, November 12.

All best wishes, and happy voting today!
Andrea
